Community Renewal International (CRI) was founded in 1994 in Shreveport, Louisiana as a faith-based, non-profit organization that brings together caring partners to restore the foundation of safe and caring communities. That faith is that love works and love wins. CRI is today an international model for all cities looking to bring renewal to their communities. Simply put, Community Renewal brings together caring partners to make our world a home where every single child is safe and loved through three primary strategies. WASHINGTON, DC

Community Renewal-Capital Area has launched in 2021. Because our nation’s capital is representative of peoples of all nations, along with implementing the three pronged strategy of our model, the focus in this city also includes integrating relationships between communities of generational residents with the more recently arrived residents through our International Partners In Caring Program. SHAWNEE, OKLAHOMA

Community Renewal Pottawatomie County is a full replication established in 2016. With 2 friendship houses, in-school programming and an active We Care Team and Block Leaders the work in Shawnee has seen significant impacts. To learn more about this replication site please click here.

CADDO PARISH

At University Elementary, Principal Kasie Mainiero worked with Community Renewal to initiate the We Care School pilot program. University Elementary is the most diverse school in the Shreveport-Bossier area. The results were rapid and dramatic with a 90% drop in suspensions and referrals to the principal’s office.
