
G. S. “Mack” McCarter is the Founder and Coordinator of Community Renewal International. Before returning to his native Shreveport to begin implementing his vision for community renewal, Mack pastored Christian churches in Texas for 18 years. Mack moved with his family back to his hometown to establish and launch his vision of a method for renewing lives and whole cities through restoring the relational foundation upon which all communities rest. Community Renewal International was begun in 1994 and has been recognized nationally and internationally as a model for reconstructing the foundation as well as the actual infrastructure of society through developing a system of loving relationships. As the representative of the CRI team, Mack’s honors on their behalf include: Social Entrepreneur of the Year from The Manhattan Institute, Louisiana Public Citizen of the Year from the National Association of Social Workers, Distinguished Alumnus of the Year from Texas Christian University, National Citizen of the Year from the National Conference on Citizenship, and Doctor of Letters Degree conferred by Nyack College/Alliance Theological Seminary, and Doctor of Humane Letters conferred by Centenary College. Mack also received the 2019-2020 Lumen Christi Award from Catholic Extension and is the 2022 Laureate of the Opus Prize awarded from the Opus Prize Foundation.

Tim Muldoon is a professor, scholar, and author or co-author of ten books, and editor of two others. Among his published works are The Ignatian Workout and The Ignatian Workout for Lent; the memoir Longing to Love; a trilogy on family spirituality with his wife Sue Muldoon (Six Sacred Rules for Families; The Discerning Parent; and Reclaiming Family Time); and two anthologies written by scholars and practitioners (Catholic Theology and the Laity and Love One Another).
Best known for his work on Ignatian spirituality, Muldoon has spoken and lectured widely, and has produced two audiobook lecture series (“Ignatian Mindfulness” and “Your Spiritual Workout”). His books and essays are used frequently in college courses, faculty discussion groups, and retreats around the country and across the world. Several of his books and essays have been published internationally (Poland; Germany; France; Croatia; Spain; Philippines). He has been honored by the Catholic Press Association on multiple occasions, and was the 2017 recipient of the “Hearts on Fire” Spiritual Writing Award from the Loyola Institute for Spirituality in Orange, California. His essays in various print and online publications have been viewed by hundreds of thousands, and he has an active following on social media.
